COMPLEXION PERFECTERS

  • CONCEAL FLAWS...STRATEGICALLY.

A full face of foundation-or too much concealer-can look and feel unnatural, says Mercier. She advises using cover-up only where you need it (and, where you don't, letting your own skin shine through). Blend.

  • TRY A SOFT TOUCH.
Your ring finger is the perfect tool for applying makeup, says Davis, because it's the weakest digit. The more powerful index finger may apply color too boldly or tug too much (hello, wrinkles!) on your delicate skin.

  • LOOK LUMINOUS.
Every face has natural shadows, and you'll look better if you brighten them, says Craig Jessup, makeup artist for Kevyn Aucoin Beauty. To find the shady spots , he says, just smile at yourself in the mirror. " You'll see darker areas-like your Cupid's bow, under your bottom lip, and at the inner corners or your eyes." To lighten those areas , dab on shimmery white eyeshadows. Blend if necessary.

  • GIVE YOURSELF A MINI FACE-LIFT.
Apply blush starting at your upper cheekbone ( at the hairline near your ear) then brush across your cheek horizontally-not diagonally or downward-until you get to the center of your face."You'll be thrilled to see the difference when your blush is darkest at the hairline and faded at the apples, instead of vice versa," says Murray, "because it's more youthful."

FRESH EYE-DEAS

  • FIGHT DROOP. Lightly shade the area just above the arch of your brow with a nude or white liner and blend, advises Jo Davis, artistic director for Trucco Cosmetics. "This subtly lights up your face and creates the illusion of higher brows and lids , which is great for droopy or tired eyes," she says.

  • SMUDGE-PROOF YOUR LINER.
Apply it with a pencil or a tiny brush, then trace over the line with a matching powder shadow. To make it last even longer: Wet your shadow brush with Visine first.

  • MAKE YOUR EYES LOOK LARGER.
Place a lash curler at the roots of your lashes, then slowly "walk" it out to the lips, pressing as you go , says Sydney, Australia, makeup expert Napoleon Perdis.

  • OUTSMART YOUR MASCARA.
Love the waterproof kind but hate wrestling to remove it? Celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose applies a coat of regular mascara first, then tops it with waterproof. "This way , the waterproof formula locks onto the other mascara instead of your lashes, so it comes odd more easily- when you want it to," he says.

  • WIDEN YOUR EYES.
To look more refreshed, use white or nude eyeliner - but this time, below your eyes, not above. Pull down gently on your undereye and trace the line between the lower lashes and the inside rim. Stop before you reach your tear ducts.

Guys, just try some of these fresh eye-deas for your eyes and you will have a nice and fresh eyes that stands up to everybody when they see it. Good Luck!!!

GOOD LOOKS

Seriously, I don't know how to wear makeup. And i don't wear any face powder. I just don't like it. It's just not comfortable for me to wear. On the other hand, it consume alot of time to do it. But some people can't get out in their houses without wearing those makeup and they always carry those things in the bags wherever they go. In addition, they said it is not hard to do it. It takes a little time to do it.

One of my co-worker told me to wear makeup and they will teach me how to do it. Well, i will think about it. I tried it once here at home by myself but when i saw what i did to my face in the mirror,I'm scared of what i saw. I showed it to my husband what i did to my face and he just said, it is better for me not to wear makeup and it will show the real me whom he fell in love with and became his wife now. But once in awhile, I tried a little bit of makeup for a change. By the way, it's new year - and new me/you! Look prettier, faster, with these insider tips from top experts as follows.

EASIEST MAKEUP TRICKS EVER

LIP SERVICE

  • PICK THE RIGHT SHADE
What most of us do: Swipe a possible new color on the back of our hand to see if it flatters.A better idea, says San Antonio-based celeb makeup artist starley murray: Test the lipsticks on your fingertip-that way, you can hold the color next to your face to see how it looks. (no mirror? Your finger is still a better gauge, since it's similar in color and texture to your lips.)

  • GET BUFF.
For the prettiest finish, run your toothbrush over your lips to exfoliate any dry skin (a damp paper towel also can do the job). Post-scrub, lipstick will glide on without caking.

  • FILL IN FINE LINES
Here's way to keep lipstick from feathering( a great trick if you have a tiny wrinkles above your upper lip): Coat your mouth and go slightly outside your lip line with a clear balm- like plain chapstick- before applying color." Like invisble sparkle," says celebrity makeup artist Shalini Vadhera, " it keeps your lipstick from travelling."

  • EXTEND THE LIFE OF YOUR LIPSTICK
So you'd like your color to last through lunch , but you don't like to feel of long-wearing formulas? Here's a tip from makeup guru Laura Mercier: Apply a coat of regular lipstick, and press it with a single-ply tissue and powder lightly (over the tissue) with a puff or brush. This sets the color and prevents running and feathering.

  • PLUMP UP.
For a finishing touch, dab the middle of your lower lip with a bit of silver or gold lip gloss. Any makeup artist worth his shimmer powder will tell you this is the fastest route to creating the illusion of fullness. But remember: If you blot or purse your lips, you'll blur the Jolie effect.

Try this simple tips and you are good to go!!!

My mother's household tips: then and now

I want to share this article that i just read from a magazine (Good Housekeeping, January 2006). Its a funny reality. Try to remember some of the household tips that your mom showed you how to do good housekeeping. Hope you can still remember those things that your mom taught you!!!!good luck.lol

My Mother's household tips: then and now

MOM'S WAY

To banish the odor of fresh paint, Mother left out a large pan of water with two teaspoons of ammonia.

UPDATE

Paint companies now produce odorless (or nearly odorless) paint formulas.

MOM'S WAY

She sanitized dishrags by pouring bleach over them and then letting them set in the sink overnight. Later, people switched to sponges and sanitized them in the dishwasher.

UPDATE

We now know that certain bacteria are not destroyed during dishwashing cycles. Experts say it may be safer to use paper towels or disposable wipes for mopping up food spills. Replace sponges often.

MOM'S WAY

To wash windows, my mother recommended using crumpled-up newspaper.

UPDATE

Paper and ink formulas have changed. Some paper is less absorbent, and the ink may leave smudges on windows and casings. I often use a microfiber cloth.

MOM'S WAY

A reader once passed along this hint, from women who worked in her church's kitchen, to my mother: To polish stainless steel sinks, they would saturate a small cloth with soft butter, then rinse off the grease with soap and water.

UPDATE

Vegetable oil on a paper towel will work just as well, with less mess.

MOM'S WAY

Use bleach to remove rust stains from colorfast fabrics.

UPDATE

Actually, you should never use bleach-it accelerates the rust's settling into the fabric. Instead, sprinkle a rust stain with salt and rub with half a lemon, or apply a commercial rust remover (found in the fabric-dye section of supermarkets).

MOM'S WAY

Store batteries in the refrigerator.

UPDATE

Because battery technology has changed, the fridge is not the best spot. Store batteries in a dry place at room temperature (never in high heat or near an open flame). Properly stored, they can last for up to five years (depending on sell-by dates).

MOM'S WAY

Hang whites in the sun to dry.

UPDATE

Not such good advice anymore. Some of today's fabrics contain optical brighteners or fluorescent whitening agents, which can be damaged by chlorine bleach or sunlight, causing yellowing. Read care labels before washing whites.

ADVICE FROM ME:

Don't use these updates as an excuse for not doing house chores that your mom want you to do. Just use this as a good option in doing your housekeeping more effective and easier.

True marriage

True marriage is a commitment so deep that it doesn't alter because of externals, so full that it doesn't care how much should be given because it gives everything, and so strong that it doesn't depend on feelings. And that commitment is anchored to Divine Love-Loyal, unselfish, withholding nothing, forgiving, patient, and kind- which is really where true love came from.

Marriage at its Best

It isn't God's purpose for man to be alone for long, because loneliness would be detrimental to his well-being.

God solemnized the first union for life, so the marriage covenant can appropriately be called the covenant of God, He having originated that sacred institution. He began it for man's happiness, one of heaven's greatest gifts.

Then why should anyone devalue, desecrate or spurn this wonderful gift?

The Husband and Wife Relationship

God created us for relationships, and marriage is one of these. Marriage is His idea, intending it to be the closest and most sacred human bond.

In our fast-track and pull-apart world, people have defined marriage in various ways- heaven, a lottery, a monopoly, a bargain, a tomb, hell, etc. While defining marriage isn't as easy as one may think, some definitions have become laughing matter. Germans say that marriage is a fever on the reverse-starting out hot and ending up cold. The French, on the other hand, compare the institution to a bird cage. Those outside the cage , they observe, want to get in as quickly as they can. But once inside, they desperately want to dash out!

Yet in spite of all the confusion and disillusionment today, the Christian marriage can be all that God designed it to be. When a couple agree to walk together, they accept each other's beliefs, hopes, and desires. They work through the expectations each brings to the relationship. This is a lifetime process. Indeed it is a great venture into a new kind of experience, involving an extended and complex undertaking of interpersonal adjustment.

Another question arises after defining marriage : What is the difference between a wedding and a marriage? Again, answers vary. I do have a preferred one which compares the wedding to a garage and the marriage to the car in the garage. Just as a garage is put up to protect the car, so does the wedding declare to the public that such a union has the moral and legal boundaries in place. Marriage, like the car, is more important and has more value then the wedding. It has to be cared for so it can retain its beauty and shine for a long time. Unfortunately, many husbands take better care of their cars than their wives!

So marriage-in order to be kept vibrant, exciting, and alive-has to be nurtured and cared for. Strong marriages are built on divergent personalities who use their individuality to build channels of communication, to understand one's partner, and to develop sensitivity and compassion. Those who build their relationship on these qualities find their marital differences turn into marriage reinforcers.

These words from a divinely-inspired pen sum up the seriousness of the conjugal tie:

" To gain a proper understanding of the marriage relation is the work of a lifetime. Those who marry enter a school from which they are never in this life to be graduated. However carefully and wisely marriage may have been entered into , few couples are completely united when the marriage ceremony is performed. The real union of the two in wedlock is the work of the afteryears."*

God Himself established marriage, and only with His help can couples stay together for a full and rewarding lifetime.

Its been a week now that my dog is bleeding. She is in heat. My dog meme is my first dog. Its really my first time to handle these natural characteristics of a dog. At first i can't believe that female dog has their time to have those bleeding like a monthly period. I think only human being have those characteristics but now i know that its not. I let my dog stay outside for now for that reason that she got her monthly bleeding. I don't want her to stay outside because of the cold but i need to. I don't want blood all over our house. On the other hand my dog loved to be outside. I don't understand that but thats what dogs are. They just loved to enjoy the cold and being in the snow. My dog loved the snow. Me and my dog got our first snow together last year and this year is our second winter time together. I loved my dog alot. Meme(dog) is my bestfriend, enemy sometimes, my bodyguard and she is my one and only dog. Lately, I have plan to buy me another dog but i'm still thinking of it. I loved dogs. I got two cats and fishes too as my pet. They are my remedies to get rid of all my stress from work. It really works. If you don't have any pet yet you must get one. They help you in many ways 101% guaranteed.

Alone

Today i feel so alone because my husband leave me home to go to work again. I really missed him every time he goes to work and every time that i leave him at home when its my time to go to work too. I work during night time and he work different shift sometime during day shift but mostly during night time. I told my husband lately, that i loved for him just to stay at home all the time so that before i go to work i can see him and when i get home home as well. I don't know when that wish of mine will comes true because as what my husband said he needs to work for us to live and survive. But it will come in the future. I've noticed lately that i can't sleep well without hugging my husband. I just feel so relaxed while hugging him thats why during my sleep time i always call him to be in my side even he has work to do in the computer. Sometimes my husband got irritated of me for telling him to stop the things he is working. But thats okey because i know he loves to be near to me all the time. He loved me and i loved him alot. I missed my baby alot..my baby my husband.. well..well.. i'll just wait for the morning to come so i can see him, hug him and kissed him all day long tomorrow.I can't wait to be in his arms while i will be sleeping tomorrow. Can't wait!!!!

missed my family back home

I've been here in states for one year and nine months now.Time is so fast.I can't believe that for that long period of time I've been away with my parents and my sis. I really missed them alot. They are always in my mind all the time. Wherever i am they are always in my mind and heart. I can't help myself thinking of them while i'm driving especially during after work on my way home early in the morning. I'll just stare in the skies hoping that on the other side of that vast skies i can see them and they can see me as well. Hoping i can tell them hi, hello, how's everybody and letting them know that i loved them alot. Without knowing tears just flows on my eyes. I can't wait to see them in person and hug them tightly showing them how i really missed them.I know God will bring us together and will not be far apart again.I can't wait that time to come. I just need to be strong and be happy of what i have now and to that one person who is there always for me,who loved me so much, my strength , my life , my best friend and my one and only husband. I love you so much Mr.Robert Michael Richards. To all my family back in the Philippines I love you all too and i can't wait to see all of you soon..God bless to all. Give more time with your family and someone you love because thats all that makes us contented in life.
